Platform overview
Yellow Card provides digital-asset and fiat payment infrastructure for businesses operating in supported African markets. Its API and embeddable widget connect local collections and payouts with USD, USDT or USDC settlement balances, making it a local money-movement system as well as an on- and off-ramp.
Local rails determine the checkout and payout experience
The coverage map separates buy and sell availability by country, currency and payment channel. Bank transfer, instant EFT and mobile money are central rails: a customer in one market may approve an immediate mobile-money request, while another uses a bank route with a stated 24-to-48-hour settlement window.
The API returns the country-appropriate channel, payment network and transaction limits, so an embedded flow can show an actual locally available route rather than assume one method works throughout the footprint. A country can support both directions, one direction only, or a channel that is unavailable or still coming soon.
A completed local payment credits the settlement balance
For a collection, the business selects a country, channel and amount and receives a quote with local-currency conversion and applicable limits. A bank-transfer flow supplies an account and reference after acceptance, while a mobile-money flow asks the customer to approve through the local provider.
Once completed, the collection credits the business’s USD, USDT or USDC settlement wallet. Disbursements work in the other direction from recipient bank or mobile-money details, with fees, limits and timing determined by the selected country and channel rather than by a network-wide promise.
Asset and network choices remain part of delivery
The widget can support purchases and sales of assets including USDC, USDT, BTC, ETH and SOL, subject to the selected market and configuration. For multi-network assets such as USDC or USDT, the asset ticker alone is insufficient: the chosen network must match the receiving wallet’s supported chain and address format.
Yellow Card is the more specific choice when the business needs African bank and mobile-money rails with stablecoin settlement. Onramper is the contrasting aggregation option for a product seeking transaction-specific comparison across a wider partner network; it does not replace Yellow Card’s direct local collection and payout infrastructure.
