Velodrome is Optimism’s trading and liquidity marketplace, built for the wider Superchain. Users swap, add liquidity, stake eligible LP positions, and can lock VELO into a veNFT voting position.
veNFT holders vote for pools, and those votes direct VELO emissions and attract third-party incentives. Voters receive fees and incentives from the pools they support. That makes a VELO lock an active voting position that directs incentives toward selected pools.
Stable pools, volatile pools, and Slipstream
Velodrome pairs Curve-style stable-swap pools for correlated assets with Uniswap-style AMMs for volatile pairs. Slipstream adds concentrated liquidity, allowing providers to select active price ranges in return for more position management. Relay supports gasless transactions in some supported flows.
Velodrome connects Optimism and Superchain pools to VELO voting and directed emissions. Aerodrome uses the same broad model on Base, while Uniswap on Optimism provides concentrated liquidity without Velodrome’s locking and voting market.
