Platform overview
Two-asset pools and flexible fee tokens
Acala Swap is the wallet-based trading and liquidity product in Acala Apps. Its DEX uses Uniswap V2-style two-asset pools: users swap through enabled pairs or deposit both assets and receive a share of the pool.
A swap can follow intermediate pools where they exist, so the result depends on the liquidity and fee along that path. Acala’s flexible-fee design links accepted fee tokens to aUSD pools that route to ACA, allowing a supported balance to pay network fees without first acquiring ACA.
Bootstrap pools before a market opens
Bootstrap is a pool-creation stage rather than an ordinary LP deposit. Contributions accumulate toward configured targets and an activation block; once the pair qualifies and is enabled, the assets become the pool and contributors can claim DEX shares. Until then, a bootstrap contribution is not a tradable pool position.
Acala Swap uses enabled two-asset pools and Bootstrap provisioning within Acala Apps. Hydration routes through an Omnipool and Isolated Pairs, whereas Acala uses enabled two-asset pools and bootstrap stages before a market opens.
