Nansen is an address- and entity-centered onchain intelligence platform. Its workflow begins with labeled wallets, entities, tokens or cohorts, then uses investigative views and event monitoring to connect those subjects to observable onchain activity.

Labels add context to pseudonymous addresses

Nansen assigns human-readable labels to blockchain addresses, including entity, behavioural, DeFi, centralized-exchange and ENS-related labels. That metadata can associate an address with context such as an exchange, fund, market maker or notable investor.

A lookup is address- and chain-specific, even where compatible address formats can be searched across chains. Standard results do not include premium labels; categories such as Smart Money and Alpha Trader are a separate premium-label endpoint, and labels remain context to test against underlying transactions and counterparties.

Profiler, token views and flows organize the investigation

Profiler investigates an address or entity cluster through relationships, counterparties, DEX trades, balances and behaviour. Token God Mode combines Smart Money movement, holder-base analysis and exchange-flow tracking around a token.

Flow views summarize inflows and outflows for cohorts including Smart Money, exchanges, public figures and whales. The product endpoints are organized around dashboards such as Profiler, Smart Money and Token God Mode, favouring work that starts from a recognizable wallet, entity, token or cohort.

Smart Alerts turn selected activity into monitoring events

Smart Alerts can monitor a chosen activity type with filters for chains, subjects, events, value thresholds, inclusion and exclusion. A matching event can be evaluated in real time and delivered to configured channels such as Telegram.

API use requires an API key. Nansen’s documented catalog spans EVM and non-EVM networks including Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, Hyperliquid, Sui, TON, Tron and several Ethereum layer-2 networks, but a broad chain list does not turn a label into conclusive identity evidence.

Dune begins with a query rather than a proprietary cohort view

Nansen suits researchers and traders who need prebuilt entity context around wallets and token flows, or who want to monitor labeled cohorts and event thresholds without first building a custom data model. Its documented programmatic model is a product-endpoint catalog.

Dune is the closer alternative when the work starts with a custom SQL question, reusable transformation or shareable query-driven dashboard. Nansen’s distinctive starting point is labeled entities and investigative views, rather than unrestricted warehouse-style SQL authoring.
