Platform overview
Liquidity Book bins and variable fees
LFJ, formerly Trader Joe, is a DEX built around the Liquidity Book dynamic liquidity market maker. Traders use it for swaps and routed trading, while providers place assets in discrete price bins instead of along one continuous constant-product curve.
Providers can concentrate a position near an expected price or spread it across more bins. The design gives explicit control over inventory placement and fee exposure, but it also requires decisions about where liquidity belongs and can leave a position one-sided. Variable fees respond to volatility, tying pool conditions to trading costs and LP fees.
Avalanche heritage and active liquidity management
LFJ has established markets on Avalanche and deploys on Monad; its Meta-Aggregator can find routes across supported sources and chains. JOE, Joepegs, Screener, Terminal, and advanced orders are related products, not replacements for the DEX.
LFJ’s Liquidity Book model uses discrete bins and distributions, making inventory placement central to liquidity provision. Uniswap V3 also makes price placement important but uses continuous ranges; PancakeSwap offers broader multichain coverage.
