Platform overview

F2Pool is a multi-coin proof-of-work pool built around separate coin surfaces, a login-bound account and worker records. Its mining configuration, reward method, fee and payout threshold are set at the coin level rather than by one pool-wide rule.

Each coin has its own mining surface

F2Pool lists separate pools for Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Ethereum Classic, EthereumPoW, Zcash, Siacoin, Dash, Kaspa, Alephium and other coins. Each surface can carry its own algorithm, Stratum endpoint, regional or SSL connection option, hashrate unit, fee, reward method and payout threshold.

The pool’s hashrate is the work pointed to F2Pool for that coin, while the displayed network hashrate refers to the wider network. A Bitcoin configuration therefore cannot be reused unchanged for Litecoin, Kaspa, Zcash or another listed coin because the algorithm and endpoint may differ.

Accounts and valid shares create the monitoring record

A miner needs hardware or mining software and an F2Pool account. Workers are created automatically after correct parameters are sent and the first valid share arrives, then appear in the account dashboard alongside hashrate, revenue and payout information.

Worker names are limited to 1 to 15 alphanumeric characters, are normalized to lowercase and cannot contain special characters. Several machines can share a worker name, but that combines their monitoring. A master account can hold independent mining accounts with separate hashrate, revenue, payout address and watcher link.

Reward and payout terms follow the selected coin

F2Pool uses different methods across its catalog: Bitcoin can use FPPS or PPLNS, Bitcoin Cash PPS, Litecoin PPS, Ethereum Classic PPS, EthereumPoW and Kaspa PPLNS, and Zcash PPS+. Merged rewards can also use a different method from the primary coin, so a pool label alone does not establish how every reward is calculated.

Fees and thresholds are likewise asset- and sometimes method-specific. A payout address is necessary for automatic payout; without one, revenue accumulates in the account balance, and F2Pool says a balance left without an address for 90 days or more may be treated as a donation. OCEAN differs by being Bitcoin-only and payout-address-centered, with no account required in its public setup and a rolling-share TIDES allocation model.
