Platform overview
Blockscout is a multichain explorer for supported EVM networks. It is designed to search addresses, hashes, blocks, tokens, NFTs, domains, and dapps across more than one chain instead of requiring the searcher to identify the network before starting.
Search results retain the chain behind the match
A single lookup can return resource types and their chains together. That is useful when the same-looking address, token name, or deployment appears across networks: a multichain token search can show deployments on Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Base rather than forcing repeated chain-by-chain queries.
Once a result is opened, Blockscout provides chain-level account balances, transaction lists, token transfers, and internal transactions. Transaction and block views add receipt status, event logs filtered by address, topics, and block range, plus block and network information.
Verification connects contract addresses to readable code
Blockscout can retrieve a contract ABI and source code, and its verification service links a deployed contract address with publicly available source. A verified contract can expose Read and Write controls for its methods, giving a user a readable contract view rather than only opaque bytecode at an address.
That distinction matters when examining an application or token contract. Verification is not universal across the explorer’s full network list: contract-verification services are deployed per Blockscout instance, so a feature on one supported chain is not automatically present on another.
The API keeps similar EVM data tied to a chain ID
Blockscout Pro uses a unified multichain endpoint with a chain ID parameter and account, contract, transaction, log, token, stats, block, and gas-tracker modules. REST and JSON-RPC access cover common EVM requests for balances, logs, receipts, code, storage, calls, and blocks.
That gives an application structured explorer data without parsing pages, but chain ID remains essential because similar EVM addresses and methods do not identify a network by themselves. Blockscout is most useful for supported EVM scope; Solscan is the focused alternative for Solana accounts and program activity.
